China Work Axes and Throwing Axes

China Work Axe heads

You will note that the China Work Axe head looks very similar to the Tuatahl. This axe is suitable as a Work, Training and Rigging Axe only in good clean, soft wood. In our opinion the steel is not good enough for it to be used as a racing axe. These are available as head only (with pin hole), or with our Tuatahi hickory handles shaped and fitted. The axe has been flat ground, with a rough rolled edge, measures 175mm wide x 185mm long, and weighs 2460 grams. This axe would not be suitable for a ladies axe as it is too heavy.

China Throwing Axe heads

The China Throwing Axe head is supplied with a thickened edge, measures 220mm across, has a blade width of 160mm and weighs 1418 grams. It can be supplied as head only (with pin hole) or with our Tuatahi throwing axe handles shaped and fitted.

Chromed or gold/silver plated

We also have available chrome, silver or gold plated throwing axes ideal for trophies. (We can also silver or gold plate our racing axes). These "trophy" axes have become extremely popular and we have found our customers ordering them as gifts.
